AEC’s roots go back over 50 years when its associated company, Hercules Contractors and Engineers, Inc., was formed.

Hercules constructed a large amount of infrastructure throughout South Carolina. American Engineering Consultants, Inc. was formed in 1994 from the engineering division of Hercules and has enjoyed continuous local ownership. As a result of our construction background, the principals of AEC, Bill and Kenny Bingham, place a strong emphasis on drawings that are easy for our clients and contractors to understand. The end result is a well-developed set of drawings may mean lower bids from contractors and cost savings to the client.

A testament to the quality of our work is reflected in the awards we have received for achievements in the field.

Our award winning experience includes both State and National level awards. Of particular note is the Palmetto Award, which is presented annually and represents the best engineering design project for the state of South Carolina. AEC is the only Small Firm to have won this prestigious award twice. In addition, AEC has been honored 5 times on a National level with awards for projects that we have designed, competing with engineering firms throughout the country.
